a charitable trust we established during my visit to India in 2008. It is a boy's home with over 220 children needing better education, clothing - you name it, they need it. 100% of donations and 50% of all merchandise profits go directly to paying for tutors and tuition. Our hope is to have each boy increase their grades by 25% and then we will send them to private schools. Knowledge is freedom!
History of Our Home
Yvonne (Weathergal) made fast friends with a young woman, Sudha, during her trip to India in Summer 2008. Together, they formed a charitable trust, called Our Home, with the goal of supplying tutors and other needed support to a boy's home in pune, india.
Sudha is highly active in volunteering throughout her community. She has been working with these boys since 2004 when she began teaching them English, and she knows them well. She is essential in helping Our Home utilize resources efficiently and effectively while always watching out for the well-being of the boys while Yvonne is in the states trying to raise funds for this charity. Her community involvement also includes many hours spent working with homeless youth and their families with the centre for youth development and activity. Recently, Sudha was listed as a featured activist for youthnoise.com!
Sudha is amazing! If everyone could work with such a caring and responsible person, this world would rock!
